Gao Chengfa, male, born in November 1963 inHai’an, Jiangsu Province, holds a doctoral degree of engineering. At present,he is a Professor, doctor Supervisor, and Secretary in the Department ofSurveying and Mapping Engineering of the School of Transportation, and Directorof the Institute of Surveying and Mapping Engineering in the SoutheastUniversity. He also holds concurrent posts as council member of the Branch ofEngineering Surveying of the Chinese Society of Surveying and Mapping, VicePresident and Secretary of the National Institute of Traffic EngineeringSurvey, council member of the Education Board of Management of Chinese GPSAssociation, member of the International CPGPS. He studied and worked at theUniversity of Calgary in Canada in 2005 and at Hong Kong Polytechnic Universityin 2008. For more than twenty years, he has been engaged in the research on thetechnology and applications of GNSS with a focus on GNSS Precise PointPositioning and Network RTK. Besides being an author/co-author of 5 coursematerials and academic monographs, he has also published over 80 journal andconference papers, obtained 4 national invention patents, and achieved numbersof academic and teaching awards, including 4 awards of provincial-level. Inrecent years, he has directed and completed more than 30 national andprovincial research projects. In particular, great achievements have been madein the field of application of GPS in traffic engineering and territorialresources surveying. He is an outstanding scholar with strong organization andmanagement skills, and with excellent capacity for scientific research.
