Yuanchang Xie received his Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering in 2007 from Texas A&M University, College Station.Dr. Xie’s research focuses on traffic control and simulation, intelligent transportation systems, transportation safety, and data analytics.His previous research also covered asset management, network and facility location modeling, transit operations, etc.Dr. Xie has published over 60 peer-reviewed journal and conference articles in these areas and received two Transportation Research Board (TRB) best paper awards.In addition, he has served as the PI/Co-PI of 20 externally funded projects and the total funding is more than $4 million.


Dr. Xie previously served as a member of the Transportation Research Board’s (TRB) Transportation Safety Management Committee (ANB10) and he is currently a member of TRB Transportation of Hazardous Materials Committee (AT040).Dr. Xie has been frequently invited to review manuscripts for over 30 international conferences and meetings.He serves on the Editorial Board Members of two top international journals (Accident Analysis & Prevention and Transportation Research Part C: Emerging Technologies) in his field. He also guest edited two special issues for reputed international journals.
